Topical photodynamic therapy of tumor bearing mice with meso-tetrakis (N-methyl-4-pyridyl) porphyrin loaded in ethosomes.

Recent work from the Farag group at the Cairo University, Giza, Egypt was published in Journal of Photodiagnosis and Photodynamic Therapy reassuring the usage of Meso-tetrakis(N-methyl-4-pyridyl)porphyrin (TMPyP) as photosensitizing agent by loading in ethosomes. TMPyP (a photosensitizer) was considered for the topical treatment of subcutaneous tumors. The hydrophilicity of TMPyP hampers its skin penetration. TMPyP was formulated in nanovesicles called ethosomes to overcome the skin barrier and allow for its transdermal delivery.

Thanks for using our Meso-tetrakis(N-methyl-4-pyridyl)porphyrin (TMPyP), T40125.
