Field of Interest: Phosphorescence, Oxygen measurement, Metal-Organic Frameworks MOFs, Photon Upconversion

Background: Pt(II) meso-Tetra (4-carboxyphenyl) porphine is a synthetic  metalloporphyrin specialty chemical that is used as a phosphorescent oxygen sensor.1-2 Photon upconversion was demonstrated with Pt(II) meso-Tetra (4-carboxyphenyl)porphine attached to a metal oxide surface.3 Metal-organic frameworks constructed using Pt(II) meso-Tetra (4-carboxyphenyl)porphine demonstrate visible light driven hydrogen production.4 Pt(II) meso-Tetra (4-carboxyphenyl)porphine was used to construct a metallacage with oxygen-responsive red phosphorescence and steady fluorescence for in vivo hypoxia imaging.5 Substituent effects of oxygen involved electrochemiluminescence are reported for Pt(II) meso-Tetra (4-carboxyphenyl)porphine and other porphyrins.6
