Bile Pigments
Bile Pigments are linear polypyrrole chains usually 4 pyrrole units with varying substitution patterns and are found as natural products in bile as colored waste products of the hemoglobin of red blood cells. Included are bilirubin (orange), biliverdin (green), their derivatives (urobilinogen, urobilin, bilicyanin, and bilifuscin), and stercobilin. Frontier Specialty Chemicals provides specialty chemicals such as bile pigments, along with custom derivatives of these compounds not shown in our catalog.
