It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our esteemed colleague and friend, Dr. Jerry C. Bommer, who passed away on September 11, 2024 following a brief illness. 

Jerry was a brilliant and groundbreaking porphyrin chemist whose knowledge and skill have benefited humankind through his development and production of light activated compounds, synthetic porphyrins, derivatives of chlorophyll, and heme.

He was a kind, wise, trusted, and generous partner who will be deeply missed. Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences go out to his family and friends during this difficult time.
