Background: Pt(II) Coproporphyrin I is a naturally derived porphyrin specialty chemical manufactured by Frontier Specialty Chemicals. Conjugation of Pt(II) Coproporphyrin I with oligoarginine peptides produced a conjugate useful for sensing intracellular O2.1 Pt(II) Coproporphyrin I was used to synthesize phosphorescent metalloporphyrin labeling reagents having an isothiocyanato reactive group.2 Pt(II) Coproporphyrin I conjugates where used as a homogeneous assay for cellular proteases.3 Pt(II) Coproporphyrin I derivatives are used as labels in time-resolved luminescence microscopy.4
