Background: 5,15-diphenylporphine is a synthetic porphyrin specialty chemical manufactured by Frontier Specialty Chemicals. 5,15-diphenylporphyrin (5,15-DPP) is reported to be a selective STAT3–SH2 antagonist.1 5,15-diphenylporphine can be monofunctionalized at the meso position to give unsymmetrical porphyrins.2,3
