Background: 5-Mono(4-carboxyphenyl)-10,15,20-triphenyl porphine is a synthetic porphyrin specialty chemical manufactured by Frontier Specialty Chemicals. 5-Mono(4-carboxyphenyl)-10,15,20-triphenyl porphine has been attached to surface supports and used for catalytic heterogeneous oxidations.1 5-Mono(4-carboxyphenyl)-10,15,20-triphenyl porphine functionalized silica was used to detect Paraoxon by fluorescence.2 5-Mono(4-carboxyphenyl)-10,15,20-triphenyl porphine was used to functionalize multiporous microspheres for artificial photosynthesis.3 5-Mono(4-carboxyphenyl)-10,15,20-triphenyl porphine was used to regulate cellular apoptosis on a surface by the photochemical generation of reactive oxygen species ROS.4
