Piperazines

Piperazines are 6 membered nitrogen heterocycles at the 1 and 4 positions, typically saturated carbons at all other positions. They are a chemically diverse family as fine chemicals and have many uses in medicine, chemistry, biology and consumer goods. As medicines the piperazine ring is found in antibiotics, anticancer agents, cardiovascular agents and others, and is a preferred scaffold found in nature.
